Because of all the lovely workshops above we are running a SUNDAY ONLY early morning Toast 'n' Jam session with Liverpool-based ukulele club D’ukes of Hazzard. Blow out the cobwebs at 10am and sing & strum those hangovers away! Ahem!
Open to EVERYONE! No booking required - just turn up and join in. Spare ukes will be available. ALL INSTRUMENTS are welcome!
Whether you are brand new to the uke or are a performer who just wants to give their fingers and vocal chords a stretch in the morning this session is for you. Start your day with a smile with friendly folk who have made uke playing their passion and just maybe some of it will brush off on you. This is a great way to link up the uke-curious with a ukulele club - it’s a whole new lease of life!
Sunday 7th July 10am with the D’ukes of Hazzard. A liverpool-based group who play for beer, pizza and the fun of it in Ma Egerton’s Pub behind the Empire Theatre every Thursday night. Check them out here: www.dukesofhazzardukulele.wordpress.com and on Facebook.
The D'ukes bring the festival to an end with a set on the Main Stage at 5:30 Sunday and will lead the GRAND FINALE bringing to a close the 5th Ukulele Summer Strum Hoylake.
Be there or be square!
Robin from Yin Yan Yoga will be offering the following sessions:
SUNDAY - 11:45am (30 mins) - Tai Chi / Qi Gong for stiff bodies. Perfect for people who are camping! This standing martial art will gently open up every joint, stretch every muscle and allow you to enjoy a few moments of zen so that when the days festival programme starts you're feeling fit and raring to go...or if you overdid it the night before, at least you'll be a bit less stiff & hungover!!
SUNDAY - 12:30pm (45 mins) - Gentle Yoga. Energise your whole day and feel ready to take on the world! After some easy to follow warm up stretches, try a few simple guided postures to stretch & strengthen your whole body, followed by the best bit - a short guided relaxation that will leave you feeling fabulous from the inside out.
(There will be mats available for people to borrow but please feel free to bring your own, or a sleeping bag will do just fine!)
To celebrate our milestone and to keep in with the party spirit we are hosting a handful of FUN FUN FUN workshops on Saturday 6th July. There is something for EVERYONE (young and old) from playing in a jug band, writing songs to channelling your Blue Peter and making things!!
And this year we are teaming up with Melrose Hall to give the workshops their own special venue just over the train track from the Rugby Club. Click here for a map. Places are limited so .... book your workshop place by clicking one (or all) of the links below. Enjoy yourselves!!
