Promoting Wellbeing and Inclusion in the Community
The main Summer Strum Festival supports two charities close to our hearts - Wirral Mind and Wirral Hospice St Johns. In 2019 you helped raise just under £4000 for each charity through buying from their stalls, bucket collections, raffle proceeds and stallholder donations - a phenomenal effort making the total raised over 5 years to just over £18k!
Despite the festival moving online this year you still helped raise over £5500 taking us well over the £20k mark raised for charity over the past 6 years!
All profits from the sale of Summer Strum 2020 Tshirts were donated to Wirral Mind and St Johns Hospice. Thank you to everyone who ordered this great souvenir of the festival 'that never was'. We have enjoyed looking at your modelling photos!
We also set up virtual bucket collections on our Facebook Page AND held TWO virtual raffles over the actual Online Festival Weekend and the week after.
As ever, the generosity of the local community was overwhelming and we are so grateful that you joined in with your normal Summer Strum gusto!
We were lucky again to receive funding from the National Lottery Community Fund. With this we were able to offer free workshop and yoga/mindfulness classes at the online festival this year. We have also set up a Zoom account so that our Summer Strum groups can keep in touch over the lockdown and beyond - this has proved invaluable.
A huge thankyou to the Summer Strum Team:
