Summer Strum is a not-for-profit, self funded event organised and run by a team of fantastic volunteers! The cost of staging the festival is met by sponsorship, grants, fundraising by and the regions' ukulele community and the support of various businesses  - see Friends of the Festival.

 

It is because of this support that the 'Strum' is able to take place as a free to all spectactular event.

A SIP OF SUMMER STRUM Thursday 18th April 7pm Smithdown Social Club, Liverpool L18 1DR - a Summer Strum promo and charity fundraiser in Liverpool on Maundy Thursday (so you'll get a lie in the next day!) featuring 3 TOP LOCAL TALENT acts (Splintered Ukes, Two of Us and The D'ukes of Hazzard) to provide you with a sip of what is to come in the Summer. Ticketed event with raffle to raise money for the Summer Strum charities.

 

HALLOWEEN OPEN MIC Wednesday 31st October 8pm at Whitt's End Wine and Cocktail Bar, Hoylake - to promote the festival and raise some cash for charity. All are welcome. £2 to perform your spooky songs, poems, stories - anything goes as always.

 

ANNUAL PLINK & PLONK Friday 26th October 7pm at WEST KIRBY ARTS CENTRE. This will be our third year of teaming up with Stone-based sommelier James Gillespie of Touchstone Wines. A great evening of wine-tasting - this year Wines from the Rhone Valley - and music from Broken Strings, Rosie Wright and James himself who is a formidable Blues singer. Don't miss out - 70 tickets available.
